In today’s Westminster Hall debate on Post Office provision in North Yorkshire, I have called for more support for Post Offices in communities, particularly those who no longer have banking services.

Norton College visit Parliament

It was great to welcome a group of sixth formers from Norton College with an interest in politics to Parliament. We were able to give them a tour of the  Houses of Parliament and arrange for them to watch some of the proceedings in the House of Commons.

North Yorkshire to receive over £2 million winter funding for Adult Social Care

Following my calls for more funding for social care services in Thirsk and Malton, I’m delighted that the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Matt Hancock MP, has today announced that North Yorkshire is to receive nearly £2.5 million of additional winter funding for adult social care.

Calling for government support to ensure a positive future for Linton-On-Ouse

In a Westminster Hall debate today I appealed to Defence Minister, Tobias Ellwood, for support to rebuild the community in Linton-on-Ouse following the planned closure of the RAF base in 2020.  We all need to work together to ensure the best possible future use of the base, whether that is for ho
