It’s clear that car parking in Easingwold has reached a crisis point and it’s time we found a solution. The town is often log-jammed with cars whose drivers leave their vehicles there all day, often because they are commuting into York. This means there are few spaces available for shoppers.

£40m cash boost for Scarborough hospital is great news

I am delighted that Scarborough hospital is to receive an extra £40 million to expand the Emergency Department. The money will be spent on providing a rapid assessment and diagnostic unit and allow significant improvements to the hospital’s engineering infrastructure.

Helping campaign to prevent sudden deaths in young people

I have today pledged my support to the charity CRY, which offers research, support and screening for those affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a young person. I had no idea that as many as 12 young people die every week from an undiagnosed heart condition.
