I was delighted to join my Conservative colleagues in the Conservative Environment Network (CEN), of which I am a member, to sign a declaration of support for a manifesto designed to govern the UK's policies to prevent climate catastrophe and to allow for greener economic growth.
Today I appealed to the Chancellor, Philip Hammond MP, to focus on Northern infrastructure spending by committing £120bn over 30 years to include strategic transport schemes as well as local transport investment.
It was humbling to join 50 of my fellow MPs in attending the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) first ever ‘drop in’ session in Westminster. CRY offers research, support and screening for those affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a young person.
Along with four Yorkshire MPs, I have written to Highways England to express our “grave concerns” about its assessment of the need and value for money of a proposed dual carriageway between Hopgrove and Barton Hill.
