New Transport Secretary to intervene in A64 dual carriageway bid

Transport Secretary, Grant Shapps MP and Roads Minister, Baroness Vere have promised to speak urgently with Highways England about the proposed dualling of the A64 following my meeting with them, alongside my parliamentary neighbour, Robert Goodwill MP.

Austerity is over – great news

The Chancellor’s spending review heralds the end of a tough era of austerity and is welcome news for the constituency. It will mean everyone, young and old, will benefit from the massive investment in their community and local services.

Leaving the EU with a deal on October 31st

I have been absolutely clear throughout the Brexit process that we should respect the referendum decision but that it is better for businesses and jobs if we agree a deal with the EU. Like most MPs, I do not want a no deal outcome and neither does the Prime Minister.

Backing plans for a Northern Budget
