Today I caught up with Farndale constituent Stuart Nelson at Castle Howard where he took a break from his 1850 mile journey from Holy Island to Rome in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The mammoth journey took him through North Yorkshire and I was only too delighted to join Kevin Hutchinson from the Air Ambulance to wish him well as he headed south.
From Castle Howard he will head to London, past St Paul's Cathedral and then to Canterbury before travelling to France and cycling through the First World War battlefields, through Switzerland and then on to Rome. He hopes to arrive by mid-September celebrating his 66th birthday en route.
Stuart looking fit and well is no novice to these epic journey. Last year he rode from Shetland to Scully in aid of Yorkshire Air ambulance and I was able to catch up with him in Westminster.
Good luck, Stuart.
