Today I attended the Great British Spring Clean parliamentary lunch with Keep Britain Tidy. We were reminded of the success of the first “Clean for the Queen” campaign in 2016, to mark Her Majesty’s 90th birthday, which has now has become an annual event. This year’s Great British Spring Clean will be in early March. The idea is to bring together as many people as possible to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and beaches. I think it’s a great idea. Not only is there a positive outcome, but it brings local communities closer.
I’d encourage community groups such as parish councils, residents’ associations, Girl Guides, Brownies, Scout and Cub troops to get involved. For more information take a look at keepbritaintidy.org/home
