Senior directors at the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banking Group have today told Kevin Hollinrake that they would re-examine the proposals to close 39 branches of the Yorkshire Bank across North Yorkshire. Mr Hollinrake and his colleagues, Julian Smith, MP for Skipton and Ripon and Rishi Sunak, MP for Richmond, met with the directors to urge them to look at ways of minimising the impact on local communities which rely on their services. Mr Hollinrake said afterwards: ‘It was a very positive meeting and they have promised to look at putting provisions in place to help those who require physical banking services. I will, of course, keep people informed about any progress we make.’
