After a final meeting with Highways England before the General Election, Kevin Hollinrake MP said he is confident that we ‘are now on the same page’ about the need to extend the dual carriageway towards Malton. Mr Hollinrake has always maintained that improvements to the A64 are essential for the economic growth of the region and for road safety and that the answer is not the proposed flyover at Hopgrove roundabout. Highways England was due to make public the findings of its feasibility study in April/May but this has had to be postponed until after the general election.
