Kevin Hollinrake urged Transport for North to work with MPs to lobby for a step change in the way money is allocated for transport to the North. Mr Hollinrake was speaking at a meeting with the CEO, David Brown, and a group of northern MPs. Mr Brown agreed that they all needed to work together to make sure the North gets its fair share of transport spend now and in the future by securing the funds first and then deciding how to spend it. Speaking at the meeting, Kevin Hollinrake said that he and his colleagues were fed up with being told that that there is no money, when for every three pounds spent in London, just one is spent in the North. Mr Brown said that Transport for the North is developing a strategic transport plan with a clear set of priorities, something the North has never had before but Mr Hollinrake said it would be more effective to secure the monies first.
