Lady Lumley's School in Pickering is one of 4 community groups across Yorkshire and Humber to be awarded funds by the Department of Transport for a new minibus. Kevin Hollinrake MP said that he is delighted for the school and that it shows that the government is prepared to invest in community transport, which is vital for rural areas. He said it will make a huge difference to pupils and parents who live in the more rural parts of the school’s catchment area.
The funds were awarded when the school took part in a competition run by the Community Transport Association, backed by a £25 million Community Minibus Fund.
