I had a wonderful visit to the Ryedale Show this week. It was great to see so many families enjoying the competitions, stalls and activities. There were some impressive livestock being judged and it was good to meet up with so many farmers from across the constituency. Brexit was one of the main topics of conversation and there was a positive feeling about the future of our agricultural industry. I was honoured to be invited to have lunch with Show Presidents, William and Doreen Curtis. My congratulations go to Geoff Todd, from the local branch of the NFU, who received the Ryedale and Pickering Lyth Agricultural Society Annual Award for outstanding service to agriculture.
