As constituents will be aware, I have been leading a campaign to dual the A64 since I was elected in 2015. Since then, I have been working with Highways England and the A64 Growth Partnership on this, as well as meeting with transport ministers on countless occasions.
I have co-signed a letter to the Transport Secretary this week in support of York’s bid to become the home of Great British Railways. The letter was sent by Julian Sturdy MP and, along with myself, co-signed by local MPs Nigel Adams, Andrew Jones and Robert Goodwill.
As the lead campaigner to improve safety on the A64, including a dual carriageway between Hopgrove and Barton le Willows, I welcome the £8m planned works which will undoubtedly improve journeys for thousands of drivers who use that road.
I took the opportunity to launch a scathing attack on RVA Surveyors who are a group of conmen who prey on unsuspecting business people and defraud them of tens of thousands of pounds over long periods of time.
